company has about $1 per share in cash and short term investments on the balance sheet (about $50 mln), so I guess the company has no need to do a secondary offering any time soon (or later).

also there is virtually no long term debt, so the balance sheet is in pretty good shape, too

earnings recap - really worth a closer look

quarter came in slightly above consensus estimates but the bookings figure of close to $90 mln is really noteworthy as it represents a great book-to-bill-ratio of 1.37

accordingly EXFO is guiding up for next quarter (about 15% ahead of current consensus estimates)

like much bigger peers JDSU and FNSR EXFO is experiencing strong demand for its products all over the world

eps guidance though is looking somewhat uninspiring at first glance, but there are stock based compensation and estimated forex losses already baken in.

gross margins are also noticeable down from prior quarters but this is also mainly tied to forex losses so at this point I wouldn't say there's a fly in the ointment.

stock is already up big after hours on rather light volume, so take care

expect pretty positive analyst commentary tomorrow morning and a subsequent breakout to multi year highs (the stock has not traded this high since the bursting of the internet bubble)
