Re: Yaser Arafat, as leader of the Palestinians, did officially agree to acknowledge Israel as a nation as part of an agreement that allows Palestinians to be able to live in certain parts of Gaza and the West Bank. This agreement didn't go over at all with many of the Arabs in the middle east and is probably no longer even recognized by Palestinian inhabitants in Gaza and the West Bank..hence why Hamas is so popular over there amongst Palestinians. If the arabs foresaw the Holocaust, they would have accepted the allocation given to them by the British pre WWII which was an 80%-Arab, 20%-Jewish allocation for Palestine.
Re: we keep talking Iran, does Israel have nukes? maybe time to sanction them
The Palestinians will never agree that Israel even has a right to exist as a nation....hence the inability to negotiate anything with them......they are surrounded by nations who claim they have no right to even exist and won't enter any type of peace talks that allow for Israel to even exist......Israel had been fighting for 70 years to just exist as a nation......so you either agree they should be recognized as a nation or they should not be recognized as a nation because that is really the heart of the matter.....America has chosen to be on the side that recognizes them as a nation.
