Formerly Schiznit - Changed from my Hip-Hop nick name to my inventor nick name - which best describes who I am - I've been working on inventions for some time - have numerous prototypes and I FINALLY have one that works really well!!!
SUCCESSFULLY BUILT AND TESTED MY SINGLE WHEEL BICYCLE TRAILER!!!!!!!!!! - It attaches to seat post and has a unique swivel mechanism that lets it pivot in all directions, but keeps it in the same upright attitude as the bicycle - sways with bike - very fast - sort of like the "trail a bike" things - the half bikes where adults use, for like a six year old child, but instead of the bicycle arrangement, you just have a basket - it's a very simple invention, but in my opinion an important invention - since you can easily carry 35 pounds with it. Unit tests out well. The two wheel trailers - which I've tested - don't work very well - v. slow - and I couldn't imagine trying to navigate Manhattan traffic.
There's only one other single wheel bicycle trailer and it sells well for $300 - that one has an esoteric arrangement that attaches to rear axle - this one attaches to seat post - has a universal joint type thing bolted to seat post - and the final pivot is a quick disconnect pin - this pin lets it pivot in the horizontal - also since it's a quick disconnect - use it to quick disconnect the trailer from bike - simple. Further pin disconnects for storage in trunk. Next is to complete my motorcycle style kickstand that will let it form a shopping cart when disconnected. People that have seen my trailer are impressed and say it should fly. |
