Parkview Health to Implement the Zanett Clinical Online Delivery System (CODS) Software for Order Set Management and Metrics
NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Zanett (Nasdaq:ZANE - News) today announced that it will be implementing its Clinical Online Delivery System (CODS) software for Parkview Health to support standardized, evidence-based order sets at the point of care, arming their doctors and clinicians with critical information to improve medication safety and patient care.
While already considered world-class in patient care, Parkview Health had an opportunity to further improve its quality of care and leverage federal stimulus funds. In addition to providing order-set management and measurement capabilities, the CODS software solution offers Parkview Health an important change management tool and downtime solution for Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Brenda White, IS Director of Inpatient Clinical Applications, Parkview Health, said, "We are pleased to be partnering with an experienced healthcare technology partner like Zanett to help us in our pursuit of delivering enhanced patient care. We chose the CODS software solution because it could satisfy our immediate needs for order set management and metrics, as well as provide a long-term solution alongside our CPOE and EMR initiatives."
Zanett developed the CODS software to enable doctors and nurses to spend more time with patients and less time on the charting required of them in creating paper records. Applying clinical decision support at the point of care has proven to reduce medical errors, improve the quality of patient care, lower the cost of care and also lays the foundation for demonstrating 'meaningful use' of technology in the future.
"Zanett is proud to partner with Parkview Health on this important initiative," said Vince Vickers, Senior Vice President of Healthcare for Zanett. "According to a recent estimate, nearly half of US hospitals are at risk of not meeting the demands of the federal requirements and will incur penalties by 2015. We recognize this need and are committed to providing best-in-class solutions, like CODS, that accelerate the path towards demonstrating 'meaningful use'. This approach allows our clients to achieve rapid time-to-value and improved performance levels, which ultimately enables them to improve patient care, enhance collaboration and lower costs."
