MJ, we agree concerning the public sectors unions - they need to go! However, I don't think the private sectors unions are no longer serving the good purpose they once did. They used to be about working an honest day's work for an honest wage. Now, they only serve to milk all they can from companies without providing any good to the company. Too many in this country have become fat and lazy.
My solution is to include some company ownership in employee compensation. This way, employees would have an interest in seeing the company do well. I realize this isn't a cure-all, but it's a step in the right direction imo.

Well a lot of those are public sector unions. I see no need for those to exist. However, private sector unions are a necessity. We are sliding back into the times when a small portion of the population owned everything and used the military force of the government to enforce their wishes and protect their assets. Thats what the American revolution was fought over. Thats why the entirety of Europe was engulfed in revolutions and wars for 100 years and it will happen again if things continue on their course. |
