"So Trump did the right thing in 2017 by bombing Syria in response to Assad's Gas attack in April that year."
Note the timeline.
2017 Tillerson announces the U.S. will no longer be involved in Syria. The very next day Syria launches a gas attack.
1 1/2 weeks ago Trump announces troops will leave Syria within a few months. A few days later another Syrian gas attack.
There's a pattern- Putin wants the U.S. to be bogged down in conflicts around the world and when will Trump come to the realization that his words can cause undue consequences. Witness his latest comments on the Cohen case. So Trump has promised U.S. troops to be home from Syria yet Putin has strategically pulled us back in via the gas attack. So are our troops coming home or not and can Trump be true to his word regardless of the issues at hand? Loose lips sink ships.
"and the Islamic State responsible for the use of sulfur mustard at Umm Hawsh in September 2016."
In 2016 ISIL was the most powerful group in the Middle East. ISIL is no longer a powerhouse in the ME thanks to the Kurds and allies supporting them. ISIL is now basing in Africa and why are we surprised that Russia has a heavy presence in that area. Another hotspot that's flying under the radar- The Arctic.

Re: I read through the Syria Chemical weapons timeline, and it seems like the OPCW is fair in investigating chemical weapons attacks and has found both Islamic State and the Syrian Govt guilty of using chemical weapons numerous occasions.
"October 26, 2017: The seventh report of the OPCW-UN joint investigative mechanism found the Assad regime guilty of using sarin nerve agent in the April 4 attack in Khan Sheikhoun and the Islamic State responsible for the use of sulfur mustard at Umm Hawsh in September 2016."
So when it comes to the OPCW, one cannot say they are biased in investigating chemical weapons attacks. One can just read the timelime. They have investigated both ISIS and Syria throughout the civil war.
So Trump did the right thing in 2017 by bombing Syria in response to Assad's Gas attack in April that year.
However, for now, the OPCW is in the process of investigating the most recent chemical attack in Douma and im sure will release some info very soon on it.
