Check with your "county assessment" office.You may not be able to do it online and have to go into the office.It is public info.
i sometimes go through the utility companies to find out who the owner is also, but that option may not be available to you.not so public :)

Check with your "county assessment" office.You may not be able to do it online and have to go into the office.It is public info.
i sometimes go through the utility companies to find out who the owner is also, but that option may not be available to you.not so public :)

You mean the Brooklyn "tax assessment" office?
If I find that, I can call (or visit) and give them the address and ask who the owners is?
(Other people have told me - I have to find the owner and the only way to do that is to mail them a letter and hope it gets fowarded - (and wait for a reply of course - which I'm doing)).
It seems like the town would take it over eventually, for non payment of taxes and stuff - I guess I'll have to try that - takes an eternity trying to get anywhere with a township - (just to find the department).

That goes without saying - I always check the violations / liens - you have to weigh the severity of them.
There's another house I'd like to bid on, but there's some peeps in my group that say the violations are too much. It's a gorgeous house. I wanted to bid $241k - they say only bid $191K.
