I live near a big tourist area and it's just the opposite here.
Tourist numbers are way down, lots of small businesses closed
and numerous homes for sale, that have been for sale for 1-3 years.
I counted seven homes totally abandoned this afternoon as I drove
to the post office.

But, me personally, I'm doing better financially than I ever have.
Not getting rich but am doing ok. I'm a firm believer in the so called
"American Dream", where if you work hard you can be successful.
And even though I currently own my home I'm ready to get out and
find something smaller. Looking to rent something a lot smaller.
I'm learning as I get a little older that acquiring 'stuff' doesn't make
me happy. The less I have to take care of and worry about, the better
I'll be.

Ever Notice how our economy always seem to be in a state of never ending crisis one after another yet seems like to me that most americans are doing great the restraunts here are all packed the malls are packed people are out shopping driving new cars spending money like crazy seems like to me everyone is doing pretty damn good
